In response to a Lancet Digital Health Editorial regarding transparency during global health emergencies, the Data Sharing Working Group published a letter outlining the rationale and aims of the group.
The Working Group is tackling barriers to effective, ethical, and equitable data sharing in a variety of ways, including by synthesizing policies, guidance, and good practice on data sharing and providing practical advice to researchers and data management teams.
This Working Group, which comprises researchers working on the ethical, regulatory, and operational aspects of data sharing, promotes the widest possible use of data in order to address the global pandemic while protecting the interests of study participants, their communities, and the researchers who generated the data.
Researchers who are seeking practical solutions to data sharing are encouraged to contact the working group (WorkingGroups@cerclecoalition.org) with “Data Sharing” in your subject heading.
