I am an Associate Professor of Biostatistics at the department of Epidemiology, Jimma University with more than 30 years of teaching and research experience and have authored and co-authored more than 60 research articles in local and international reputable journals. My research areas mainly focus on maternal and child health, communicable and non-communicable diseases including mental heath and food security. Most recently I was involved in One Health as well as COVID-19 related research. In addition to this, I lead and facilitated repeated research methodology training to staff and members of different government and non-governmental organizations and conduct longitudinal data management training using STATA for surveillance team members of HDSS site in Ethiopia. I have also served as consultant in Operational Research on Immunization and conducted evaluations of new born pilot projects and Mid-term evaluation of Immunization Projects for NGO communities in Ethiopia. Apart from the curricular activities, for the last four years I have served as member of the Research Advisory Council for the MCH directorate of the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia.
