Post-COVID-19 condition: Challenges for patient care in low- and middle-income countries
During the COVID-19 pandemic, scientific evidence has advanced in the assessment and establishment of treatments for COVID-19 patients, both inpatients and outpatients. However, these studies have focused on acute disease and there is a need to advance in the understanding of post-COVID-19 condition. Nowadays, this is one of the most relevant challenges, which has been approached by identifying, characterizing, and following patients with long-term manifestations, but also requires preparedness and equipping the health system for diagnosis and provision of clinical care, especially in resource-limited settings.
In this webinar experts and members of the Clinical Epidemiology Working Group of the COVID-19 Clinical Research Coalition will:
- Provide an overview of latest understanding of post-COVID-19 condition
- Give a brief overview of the most relevant ongoing or completed studies
- Discuss the preparedness and challenges of LMICs to attend patients with post-COVID-19 condition
